For Nancy :)

First is Sammy's sib and has been living in the shadow of Sammy & Hay Luz, who've been doing really well in the field. Their mother is Ravenwolf Midsummer Flyte, LCM2, their father is DC Mielikki's Kind of Magic SC, LCM, SGRC, ORC. I nabbed her last week and took her racing, she's bullheaded to the Nth degree, but otherwise a very sane dog to run. DOesn't have her father's speed, but has his nice nature running, and both her parent's keeness on the bunny. And truly a wonderful personality since she'd never been in the Zoimobile AKA Sardine can, and didn't give me a bit of problem

She has the world's cutest little face, and is a lovely bitch. Definitely one I wouldn't mind calling my own.

She'll be out running some more with me this fall. She got 1/4 GRC point last week, not much in the scheme of things, but until her faster kennel mates get out of the way, she's going to be the bridesmaid :) But since she's a great dog to run, not yanking or pulling, she's a welcome addition to the pack

Just got an email that yet another Brooks X Sage kiddo picked up a point(Make sure to give sage-a-muffin a kiss for me sis). Mr Mau Mau owned and adored by Di Ryde went to his first or second show down in KY and picked up his 1st point :) Her first point too LOL. Remember how she was when she won her CLASS with his half uncle Loki back in 2002 at the Nationals, I know she's flying high. . that's 4 of the 5 boys pointed in the ring, with Mr Dandy man neutered and a spoilt pet. Damn, means I need to get Kani-banana out. . LOL When/if she has hair, damnit, hate having a girl with a 5.5 month season. .. it makes it hard to do ANYTHING.

Di is one of those homes that are once in a million .. win or lose, she loves her boys. . .Loki hated showing and ended up having to be neutered due to a reoccurring prostate infection. . so I’m glad she’s got a boy who LOVES to show like Mau does. . and his cousin she also has, Dickens, may be trying his paws in the RN ring. The biggest compliment I can give someone is, I would’ve been willing to let Obie go live with them, and Di is one of those homes. . .one of those few homes. .

Gossip & Dei got accepted in an intermediate agility class starting next week :) Gossip is getting the weaves, Dei says it's too damn humid to do things. .maybe tonite as it's lovely out despite being rainy. .Will try and get my favorite nephew some more video of the doggies doing funny things for him to drive his mom nuts with

Tomorrow is pack the car, rearrange stuff and get ready for racing. .got my fingers cross that Gossip'll do the uval. Would be nice. . . She very well might, there'll be bunny ears on it LOL Also taking Chantilly and see if she's interested in the LGRA bunny. . .if so, got another dog to run while Reba stays home to do coursing instead. She won't be happy LOl really hoping Chantilly runs, she should be fast, the rest of the litter is. . may take Bagheera out next weekend. . or Tipperary. . can’t wait.

An enlisted Borzoi

I am a proud military brat. Everyone who knows me well knows that. . .I grew up with the Air Force, married into the Air Force, my grandmother & step grandfather on my father's side were in the military(Which branch I can't remember, maybe Navy), my step father is retired Air force. Personally, I think it should be required that all healthy bodied youths do a mandatory tour in the military, but that's a different story, and not what I started this for.

I got a wonderful email this morning, that a Kyra grandson, by DC Mielikki's A Kind of Magic SC, LCM, ORC, SGRC out of a Ch Teine Slight of Hand, by the name of Raven, AKABorchis Glorfindel Numenesse" Nka "Kolchak XIV" will be going to Hawaii to be the Mascot for the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry “Wolfhounds”.

What's sad is the uproar his owners/breeders got from people who were aghast they'd do this. It's an honour, maybe that's what some of the uproar was about, jealousy LOL. But others just boggled my mind, automatically assuming that a well adjusted properly bred dog would have problems living the lifestyle Raven's going to live. Sage didn't have my normal prostitute dog temperament(I didn't raise or breed her), but she walked out of the Lufthansa airport into my life like she belonged there, and from the continental flight into my sister's life without a problem. .and that's going to a complete stranger, Raven will get to know everyone in his platoon.

But a number of these people who got their panties in a bind, are also the ones who complain about not enough good homes. Maybe their expectations are a bit too high? They complain about people who buy show pups and then return them when they don't turn out, well, don't sell the puppies so young then. I've only sold one guaranteed show pup, and Secret was almost 2, so I knew what she'd develop into. I don't sell guaranteed show pups, which is why most my pups go into pet homes. . if they're so darn good they need to be shown, they stay with me. That's why both Secret & Races stayed on with me, they were too good to let go. There's only been one neutered that I truly wish I'd had collected before then, and that was Larry. He's in a wonderful home, and that's what's important, and his owner did offer to send him back to me when I lost Races because he is so damn nice, but oh well. . .can't keep 'em all. Someone wants a guaranteed show pup, they can go elsewhere, or they can wait until they're 6 months old.

These people are also the same people who look down on anyone who sells to people they deem unworthy. I had one of them tell me not to sell to Hecate's owner, because they thought she was strange. Well, I could've asked for a better home. . how many other homes would've done multiple MRIS then hired a specialist to take the mass out of Hecate's spine? Thankfully not cancer, thankfully she's back to normal. Thank heavens for doggy insurance, but still, I know it cost her a bit of a fortune!

have to tell ya the truth, I'd rather deal with the openly 'different' than those who act normal but aren't!

ramblings

Gossip achieved her freedom this morning. She got bathed, gussied up last night, and got to sleep with me last night, where she quickly vacuumed up the cat food the Brats(Herbie & Treasure) scattered everywhere while I was gone this last weekend. She knows why I keep her around ;) And then this morning, she was released into the big yard, 1st time since her surgery really. Fingers are crossed I get home and she is SOUND! It's been 3 months since surgery, so here's hoping! She has definitely suffered bodily for restricted exercise since October: lack of muscle, narrower. . .the way she plays, I expect that to be remedied quickly.

Dork boy AKA Grins swears she’s still in season, following her around, and when I yell at him, he stands up and flashes his grin, and continues being the dork. LOL Love him dearly, even if he is a DORK!!!

Got a note from Titania AKA The Queen’s mom, and she’s doing well, even tho she’s also nicknamed the PIG cuz of her habit of wallowing in the mud while digging for gold lOL

Five days away was much needed, could use another week, but boy did the kiddos tell me how much they missed me. Treasure didn’t shut up the 1st night home, and Dei’s been trying to stick to me like white on rice. Gossip would’ve been in my arms if she could’ve fit. Silly Goosey girl.

Was hard, everyone kept asking over Kyra, who’s been gone since 2/06, and Obie, who’s been gone a year tomorrow, and I kept breaking down. The kids remembered them both and adored them both, as did my Aunt. Between that and Gran’s memorial, was a hard weekend.

Thursday news

Got a pic of Hecate(FKA Rumour) and boy do I really want Touchet to have another litter of pupies. .that bitch has such a gorgeous head, and she was one of the three I could not decide between! (secret & Goose were the other two)

Umbra's looking absolutely FANTABULOUS after his bath last night, hopefully Kathy Wright'll love him as much as I do next month. . Hand hurts too bad to do his teeth tonite, but will do it again tomorrow.

Sammy, a Kyra grandpuppy, my pick puppy out of Nancy’s B litter in fact, picked up a BIF win this weekend. I know his owner is flying on cloud 9. She’s wanted a great running dog since Wings retired, and she’s got one. I am so glad I was able to connect those two(nancy & Robin) when I couldn’t take Mr Sammy-man

I told his future wife to be(Kani), she didn’t care LOL. She’s in that young(2.5) teenager brain stage, what EVER LOL

Mr River went coursing and picked up some more points towards his FCH. I can’t wait to see what his puppies are like, if they have his silly goofy temperament, I know the breeder will be ecstatic! And she was able to see the LIE that was spread about him running dirty was just that, and since she’s been doing this quite a long time, I think she knows what the hell she’s talking about.

And Ms Gossip continues to heal. She actually PLAYED with Mr Wizard last night, or at least, tried to get him to play LOL HE was exhausted after his first full weekend of coursing. She spent most of the weekend in the big yards playing, came up a little lame, but seems to be fine this morning. Every boy seems to be interested in her butt, I wish she’d come into season damnit!! My luck, she’ll wait til the middle of the spring racing.
