Doesn't matter how long you have them, it's never enough
There's only one call I dread more than the "lost dog" call/email from an owner, and that's the one of "I just lost"
Sunday I got up and checked my email, to receive a note from Sherita Hogan. My friendship with her had become distance over the years, but she was nice enough to let me know that she had had to make that hard decision to let Mir go, Diagnosis Kidney failure.
Mir was the over achiever of my successful Queen litter(11/24/00). When she approached me about a dog back in the fall of 2001, she wanted a performance dog, that's all. . .I offered her Mir, out of the boys I had left, he was keen, but would be too hard to finish in the NE due to missing teeth and a slightly narrow rear. The rest was history.
Anything Mir tried, he did well. . .he was officially known as DC Mielikki A Kind Of Magic SC LCM SGRC ORC, one of those rare dogs who could do it all, even the oval where so many dogs fail. And he excelled at it. His wins and career were things of dreams
He finished his GRC & ASFA FCH in four days
And his AKC FC in 6 events with 5 majors
2002 & 2004 Notra Nationals Breed Winner
The first winner of the NOTRA Fezzik Trophy

#2 Notra Borzoi 2002
#4 LGRA Borzoi 2002
#7 LGRA Borzoi 2003
#4 NOTRA Borzoi 2004
#4 LGRA Borzoi 2004
#2 Notra Borzoi 2005
#15 NOTRA All Breed 2005
BCOA Nationals 2005
LGRA
2nd in Meet (To his Nephew!)
High Scoring CH
High Scoring ORC!
Two time winner of the Susan Weinkein trophy Trophy in Region 4(From the veterans class!)
But most of all, he was Sherita's best bud, and a strong brick for her foundation. He's behind numerous dogs now, bred by Zoiboyz, Borchi, Golightly, Celeritas, Silkenswift, Kinobi & Attaway Borzoi, and leaves behind a legacy that'll last forever.
Sister Dei got special breakfast to celebrate his life, and Sister Scirocco & brother Eros got extra loving. . .My heart goes out to Sherita, but also a big thank you, for letting him become what he was meant to do. I know he was loved to the end of his days
Run fast little white boy, catch that damn bunny. . .
